Description of World Circuit
Arguable the best racing game ever made, World Circuit doesn't match the graphics excellence of Papyrus' more famous Indycar Racing but more than makes up for it with superb physics model that gives authentic F1 feel without bogging the player down with unnecessary details.
All the official F1 tracks are present here, and you can choose to play against computer-controlled drivers or a friend. Highly recommended! If you like this classic, also check out the superior sequel and fellow Hall of Belated Fame entrant Grand Prix 2 on this site.

I played this to death on a Toshiba 486 laptop with 4MB of RAM and built in monochrome monitor. Even the complete lack of colour couldn't take away from the brilliance of this game, to the point where the 'A' key on my machine stopped working after a year due to my pressing on it so hard to accelerate. The 'Z' key (brake) didn't fair much better in the end either. Marvellous.
Can still be enjoyed today in DosBox, although using DBGL is much easier, as it is DosBox with a brilliant, easy to use front-end. No tinkering with command lines needed!

Ahhh, the wonder days of big box DOS games. This came on 3 floppy discs, and included a sizeable paper manual. Wonderful simulation, well thought out and brilliantly and efficiently executed. Highlights included the sheer speed of Hockenheim, cutting that corner just right in that race and in Spa. And the thrill of actually racing the famous Monaco circuit. All painstakingly designed to match their real life equivalents.
I saw an interview once, for the F1 program on the BBC, where drivers were using this very game to familiarise themselves and practice the tracks when they didn't have access to a real car, such was the realism of the simulation for the time. Not bad for 1992! No wonder it sold so well. Well done Geoff Grammond.

Hi. It´s true that amiga version are slow on 500, 500+, 600, 1200. But the 4000 normal configuration are faster, Really; I tried and it works well. I recommended it on Amiga.

Great F1 game, this runs smooth as silk in in VGA with textures even on a 12mhz 286.
Forget the Amiga version, apart reduced colors, no road textures and lots of missing animation it is SLOW, very slow even on A1200.
