Inherit the Earth: Quest for the Orb
DOS - 1994
Also released on: Mac - Amiga
Description of Inherit the Earth: Quest for the Orb
The only adventure game from New World Computing is a pleasant fantasy adventure aimed at kids of all ages.
Control a group of talking animals in their quest for the Orb, an ancient artifact rumored to have powers to save their kind. Colorful characters and non-violent themes make this an ideal family adventure, although it is a bit on the short side and puzzles are mostly of the "bring object X to character Y to get Z" variety. Recommended for newbie adventure gamers and anyone who wants a satisfying diversion from more difficult adventures.
Note: After being out of print for close to 10 years, new copyright holder Wyrmkeep Entertainment is now re-releasing the game - all in the spanking new Windows format for only $20 :)

Excellent voice acting. Quite a big game need to interact with alot of different strange characters, great list of dialog options. Lot of maze like puzzles thru out the game. Wish there is a good map to avoid beating around the bushes. The ending is a bit different what i expected but OK.

You can tell this game was going to be much better than it turned out to be. The visuals are beautiful pixel art, and the vocal performances are compelling. but producer meddling left us with an empty game with some questionable puzzles (or lack thereof). Still, you get a sense of how elaborate this game could have ended up being instead.

D-Fend_v2.0.62.42 is last version, i advise to use it , it supports all dos games with no probs at all, it is easy interface for DOS as it have to be, while d-fend reloaded is just complicated and buggy, no clue why, and no clue why it even needed while original d-fend easy and supports all the stuff.

One of the most epic adventure games ever made! The game has a very special atmosphere, cool story and superb soundtrack. Since I finished it about ten years ago, I still play those amazing songs with mandolin and flute. Nothing is better than to play the theme of the ferret village at night by the campfire..
