Description of Last Battle

Last Battle (aka 北斗の拳新世紀末救世主伝説, Hokuto no Ken: Shinseikimatsu Kyūseishu Densetsu), a really nice action game sold in 1989 for Genesis, is available and ready to be played again! Also available on Amiga, Arcade and Commodore 64, time to play an arcade, martial arts, post-apocalyptic and beat 'em up / brawler video game title.

Even though I was a kid, I recognized that Last Battle was Hokuto no Ken, since I was a great fan of the manga. I played it a lot until I mastered it, and then continued to play it as a pastime.

I've seen the Amiga and the C64 versions, but they lack the same playability. The C64's is playable but has very basic graphics; the Amiga's has good graphics but it's clunky, stutters and half the game is missing.

Recently, several patches for the original Japanese version have been released: one for translation and bug fixes, and another with QoL and other improvements.

Haha, that's because it IS Fist of the North star, they just didn't have the license for the english version. Absolutely wretched game, even for its time. Better off just playing Kung Fu and pretending you're playing as Kenshiro (or one of the modern games, since they're actually good.)

the way he powers/speeds up always made me think of the guy from Fist of the North Star. Anybody else?

For those using the C64 version, you need to turn on "True Drive Emulation" (WinVICE) or use "Normal 1541 speed" (CCS64) *AND* PAL display mode.

Trying to run in NTSC mode will cause the program to crash after the intro and loading.
