Andy Hawkins - you need to use the basic spell to upgrade it by experience, a bar will fill up to indicate how close you are to gaining the next level of spell. Very good with volcano for example, keep preserving with it to become a kick ass wizrd

Definitely one of my all time fav games. I for one can't understand why this has r been remade on today's PCs such a shame.

One of my favourite games together with Diablo - the atmosphere is one of the best - I am still hoping someone will do a remake with new graphics but same playability

This is not "point and click, no challenge". Magic Carpet 2 is a sophisticated first person shooter where you fly on a magic carpet and gather Mana in the game world to upgrade your castle and kill the other mages. It's quite a good game, and has more varied objectives than Magic Carpet 1. However, I still prefer the original just because of the feeling it gives me. :)

In case anyone stumbles upon this, I finally worked out how to do it while playing the last level of the game!

What you need to do is press CTRL to bring up the spells list. Then, click and hold the mouse button on the spell in question, and while holding the mouse button drag left and right to select the higher spells.

Wondering whether to replay the game to see how much difference it makes having access to the higher spells earlier on!

Can anyone tell me how to select the upgraded versions of spells?

If I hold CTRL, then mouse over the spell, the 3 variants of the spell appear above the spell box. However, if I move the mouse up over the three variants, I don't seem to be able to select the more powerful ones.

I have received messages in the game saying my spells have been upgraded, and the icons appear to indicate I should be able to select them.

What am I doing wrong?
