The game with patch 1.1, Generic Fix and NoDVD has been tested on Windows 7 64-bit and Windows 10, works fine. The game with Generic Fix supports widescreen and ultra-high resolutions up to 4K. You may experience some small troubles when you play the game, check our Guide and Notes for details

Before installation - if you're using Windows 8, 8.1, 10 or 11 - make sure that you enabled DirectPlay if you didn't make it before, read this or this guide how to do it (if you're using Windows 7 or older - just install DirectX from the disc)

Install & play guide:

Mount the disc image. You will need the utility for mounting disc image files, like WinCDEmu, UltraISO, Alcohol 52%/Alcohol 120% or Daemon Tools Lite
Install the game (if autorun doesn't work - try to launch Autorun.exe in compatibility mode with old version of Windows (98, 2000 or XP))
Once you installed the game - install the patch v1.1. Note that the patch for US version is not compatible with EU version, and vice versa
Patch fixes many bugs, adds support for LAN multiplayer, plus it adds new bonus events and cars
After that install NoDVD (simply copy NFS.exe from the archive and put it into game directory, replacing original NFS.exe)
Then install NFS Pro Street Generic Fix by ThirteenAG (instructions are inside the archive)
Open the directory with the game and find NFS.exe. Right click on NFS.exe - Properties - Compatibility - Set "Run this app in compatibility mode with Windows XP" and "Run as administrator"
Launch the game and play. If the game doesn't work in compatibility mode with Windows XP - try to launch it in compatibility mode with other version of Windows (98, 2000 or Vista)

How to unlock DLC content:

The patch 1.1 adds bonus content from DLCs but some cars/events are not available in the menu. Here's few methods how to unlock them:

Use Booster Pack DLC Cars Unlocker to unlock 16 new cars that was added with patch 1.1
Install NFSPS Extra Options mod (edit ini-file to unlock all cars) or use NFSPS Multi Unlocker (unlocks DLC cars and extra events)
Use PatchFix for 1.1 by JunkiedStar. That fix was created for Russian version of the game but works with other versions too. We tested it on English version of the game, and uploaded it to our website with the guide on English, you can find it in Downloads -> Fixes category. Also, the broken custom body kits are disabled in this fix
Use NFSPS Multi Unlocker, it is pack of scripts that allows to unlock new cars from DLC

Note that some of DLC cars (Dodge Challenger Concept, Gallardo Superleggera, McLaren F1, Porsche 911 GT3 997 and Audi R8) are broken. When you will install custom body kits on that cars, some parts of car model is becoming invisible. To fix that you need to download & install mods from this link

Notes:

If the installation doesn't start - try to launch Autorun.exe in compatibility mode with old version of Windows (98, 2000 or XP)
The game is using SecuROM DRM protection, which may have issues on modern systems and requires the disc for launch. NoDVD "breaks" DRM protection and allows to run the game without the disc and with no issues on modern systems
If you have troubles with installation of patch - copy patch-file into the game directory then launch it from there. Sometimes the patch cannot find the game directory automatically
It is recommended to install all versions of Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable and NET Framework for the correct work of the game. Also it is recommended to install K-Lite Codec Pack for the correct work of in-game videos
The game works on DirectX 9, so if you're using Windows 8, 8.1, 10 or 11 - you need to enable DirectPlay: Go to Control Panel, and select 'Programs'. Select 'Turn Windows features on and off', click on 'Legacy Components' and check the box 'DirectPlay'. Select OK, once the installation is done, restart your computer
NFS: ProStreet multiplayer servers doesn't work for many years already, but you still can play LAN mode multiplayer with tools like Hamachi. Watch this video guide for instruction. Please note that LAN multiplayer doesn't work on Windows 11 by default, but luckily it was fixed in latest version of NFS Pro Street Generic Fix
US version of the game has full English localization and text localization for 16 languages. EU version supports 9 languages. If you want to change the language - use Language Changer
There can be random crashes on Nvidia graphics cards, the possible solution is to rename NFS.exe to some other name, like ProStreet.exe
By default the game supports resolutions up to 1920x1200, but with NFS Pro Street Generic Fix you can play the game on ultra-high resolutions up to 4K. If you want to play on multi-monitor setup or on ultra-widescreen monitor - use fixes from PCGamingWiki
Some of graphical mods, like HD Reflections mod, are using dinput8.dll from Widescreen fix as a base. If you want to play with both HD Reflections and Widescreen - leave only the newest dinput8.dll
If you want to play with gamepad - use NFS Pro Street Generic Fix, the latest version includes improved gamepad support. As alternative - you can use NFS-XtendedInput plugin. If you have troubles with gamepad deadzones - check this guide
Check PCGamingWiki guide for modifications, there's a lot of mods that can enhance game's graphics and improve gameplay, like improved HUD textures, better reflections, etc. Also, check GamePressure to find some gameplay and graphics mods

know a fix for unable to buy cars?
normaly you buy a car and the game switches to the garage to customize it, with me the game does a camera switch back to the car lot in the car i just tried to buy. can't go back change cars. only solution is quit the game and don't buy any cars

The game doesn't recognize DS5 analog input correctly. I can't press gas or brake slowly. Its always either 0 or 100% when it comes to the analog trigger inputs. How do I fix this? With Xtendedinput the controller just completely stopped responding in-game.

You can see there seem to be 2x identical downloads labelled as "Repack by MagiPack (includes fixes) English version 3.3 GB". The difference is very small in that the first link (from top to bottom) is RePack v2 and the second link is Repack v3, with the changelog mentioning this: "Updated the ThirteenAG's fixes pack & HD Reflections mod". So, grab the second one if you want the latest version!

Hi everyone for those that are having problem to run on the ok button do this:

-download the generic fix on https://github.com/ThirteenAG/WidescreenFixesPack/releases/tag/nfsps

-run the exe

-press ctrl+shift+esc

-click with the right mouse button on "nfsps.exe"

-select go to details

-click with the right mouse button on "nfsps.exe" again

-select set affinity

-and mark only cpu 0

-you can go back to your game this should fix :)

Hello, Win11 user here.
I'm here to report that upon downloading the US 1.0 works just fine!
However I ran into a LOT of issues.
- The 1.1 patch doesn't work - it told me it has "upgraded" my game to the 1.1 version but I didn't see any changes, no new cars, no new tracks, just a nifty message saying I got the "Energizer Pack" or whatever it's said - this was also the case when I put in the NoCD patch.
- Prostreet Generic Fix doesn't work at all either - I just have a white screen at all times after using it.
Prostreet HD Content Support also doesn't work - it displays an error message saying my .exe file isn't the 1.1 version and requires me to download a 1.1 version patch [i suppose by a person named] "BATTERY".

Do *not* tell me to install the magicpack - as it contains Aero's Camera mod which sucks.
That's all for now - a reply would be appreciated.

As others have asked - no need for NoCD with repack works out of the box as it were. Also saw someone having issues with controls not working - I had the same issue, alt-tabing out and back in seemed to fix this for me. Repack is working great and the game actually looks pretty damn good considering its age.

Game mostly runs as it should, the only issue I'm running into is when I'm in the car lot attempting to purchase a car I get stuck in the car lot and none of the controls will work.

First of all, you guys are doing the lord's work, thanks!
My game is glitching heavily in drag mode, though. The cars' wheels keep bouncing up and down and the cars themselves inch forward just enough that I get a false start almost every time without even touching the controller. Has anyone had this issue? I found a post about the same thing happening to a guy with an xbox 360.

I already made the guide above, just read it. Make sure that you enabled DirectPlay and installed Visual C++ Redistributable & NET Framework before the installation of the game. After you installed the game - use Generic Fix by ThirteenAG, that fix adds better compatibility for Windows 11.
And I recommend to install the game in non-system folder, like C:/Games/NFS ProStreet, so Windows Protection won't block files of NoDVD or fix

@OLDJOHN I guess keyboard must be connected before you connect the gamepad. In many games keyboard must be connected when you launch the game, then you need to connect the gamepad and use keyboard to go to Options and select gamepad as controller

Small update - we uploaded new versions for some fixes, including new version of Generic fix by ThirteenAG which has improved controller support, and also should help to run the game on Windows 11

@RATED-R try to use new version of Generic fix, it should help

@BONUS - use NoDVD

@G_RZD try to select SkipIntro=1 in NFSProStreetGenericFix.ini to skip intro videos

@Everyone - if you have troubles with the game or NoCD/fixes, like "Not enough space" or Admin Privileges errors - we recommend to install the game not in default C:/Program Files/Need for Speed ProStreet folder, but in some non-system folder, like C:/Games/NFS ProStreet

The MagiPack Repack doesn't work properly on Windows 11. The intro movies run as programed, but once we get to the interactive menu, it's like the game runs at 2 fpm(frames per minute.)
