NoCD by CyberDemon@ showed few warnings on VirusTotal, here's the scan report. All warnings are generic, about suspicious/unsafe file, it is safe to use, just add xmlEng.dll in antivirus exceptions if your antivirus blocks it.

The game with NoCD has been tested on Windows 7 64-bit, Windows 8.1 and Windows 10, it works fine. You may experience some small troubles when you play the game on modern systems, check our Notes for details.

The archive with English version of the game includes already pre-installed game patched to v1.0.0.3 with NoCD, you don't need to install it, simply extract & play. Make sure to check Readme-file by GuyWithTeaCup inside the archive

Notes:

• If the game doesn't start - try to launch it in compatibility mode with old version of Windows (Windows 98 or XP) and as administrator (right click on Refuse.exe -> Properties -> Compatibility)
• It is recommended to install all versions of Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable and NET Framework for the correct work of the game. Also it is recommended to install K-Lite Codec Pack for the correct work of in-game videos
• Be careful! The Russian version of the game was using infamous StarForce DRM that can break your system! If you plan to play the Russian version, make sure to use NoCD by CyberDemon@ before the first launch! To use it simply copy xmlEng.dll from the archive to game folder, replacing original file. After you used NoCD - delete protect.dll and protect.exe files just in case, that's the files of StarForce drivers. If you accidentally installed StarForce drivers - use StarForce drivers removal tool
• If you have any graphical glitches - set the Graphics quality to Medium or Low, it should help. The game uses an old OpenGL API that may not be compatible with some graphics cards, so on High Graphics quality you may see some glitches such as "weird" special effects
• For unknown reason, the intro videos that play when the game starts, doesn't work on modern systems (only a black screen is visible and sound is heard). It can be fixed if you minimize & expand the window on the launch, or run the game in Windowed mode. Or you can watch the videos separately, video files are available inside REFUZE/starter.game/locale/ru/ui/startup folder in .AVI format
• The game has no framerate cap, so if the game works too fast on your system, enable Vsync in control panel of your video card. If it didn't help - use one of framerate limit utilities
• If you have problem with broken sound effects or disappearing sound - first try to change the sound settings. If it didn't work - set sound quality to 24 bit, 48000 Hz or 24 bit, 44100 Hz. Read this guide how to do that
