Description of Revenge of Defender
Starray is a fun side-scrolling shooter developed by Logotron and published by Epyx in the US as Revenge of Defender (probably to increase brand awareness by associating the game with Atari classic Defender. Despite the lofty name, though, the game isn't quite as much fun as Atari classic, perhaps due to sparse enemies and repetitive levels that resemble one another after a while. Still, for anyone looking for a quick shooter fix, Revenge of Defender just might do the job-don't expect it to be anything like the Atari classic, though.

The C64 version has prettier graphics than the EGA version - that's funny :)

...That it was. Arguably the best game Williams ever released insofar as video games go. The arcade versions still collect top dollar at auctions and game room sales. I know of some arcades that have had their Defender machines since they first got them from Williams, and have kept them running and refurbished ever since. Even the old Hemorrhoids and Space Invader stand-ups don't have quite this durability and longevity. Same for the original Pac-Man and Donkey Kong boxes!\

Defender was not an Atari classic, it was a Williams classic.
