I miss that game too. Many hours playing with my sons, I usually played support because that was my role in the games we played when they were kids, one of them even made Savage II work in Linux which we used at the time.
Before that we played Serious Sam and then came to Borderlands 2, we finished almost all Borderlands together, not the first.
Now they are adults, one doing his PhD, the other his Bachelor and still play but we have different interests, still, memories are there.

Coolest MOBA style action/strategy game ever made, before MOBA became popular. Nothing compares to it. Combat mechanics allowed player skill to shine in a multitude of ways, and with a wide variety of play styles. Very fun action, and combat, and enjoyable roles for builders and support play styles as well.
Only reason game died is because the developer and programmers had a dispute, and developers could not get access to the source code to fix certain bugs, and expand the game. So they abandoned the game instead. I have looked for a replacement for this game for a decade, but nothing comes close :(

Was an awesome game until they replaced attack/block/interrupt mechanics with shield bars and what not.
I played a lot before that, not at all afterwards.
