Description of D-Day
Here is the video game “D-Day”! Released in 1992 on DOS, it's still available and playable with some tinkering. It's an action, strategy and simulation game, set in an arcade, flight, historical battle (specific/exact), real-time, tank and world war ii themes and it was released on Amiga and Atari ST as well.

Dan's Tech Support 2026-01-12 0 point DOS version
Game runs fine with some tinkering in DOSBox-X; run 'DDAY.COM' in order to access English version of game. D-Day also supports Roland MT-32 music, but music only plays at the opening movie and level loading screens, so you aren't really missing anything by sticking with Sound Blaster.
Game might be better on other systems, but DOS version is the only one released in English. Four different styles of gameplay, but paratrooper sequence is slow and boring, and tank & aircraft missions use early 3D graphics that run very slowly, with very repetitive and annoying engine sounds.
On-foot soldier mission is the only one that piqued my interest, playing like a more primitive Cannon Fodder, but with only one soldier that dies in one hit, I made very little progress before dying.
