Knights of the Sky
DOS - 1990
Also released on: Amiga - Atari ST
Description of Knights of the Sky
A fun World War 1flight sim from one of the most respected flight sim developers-- this game's strength lies in its dizzying array of planes you can fly and good graphics (for its time). The campaign mode, sadly, cannot be compared to the venerable Red Baron, but is still interesting nonetheless.
All in all, a solid flight sim that is not ground-breaking but is capable at what it does.

This was, and basically still is, a great WWI flight sim! My PC is not powerful enough to play more recent WWI flight games, but I've not seen any as good as this on consoles since this 1990 game! The PS3 has 'Red Baron Arcade', but it's not great and there's no rival aces.
Rival aces dropping challenges over your base with a note saying where to meet them in the skies was the best bit!
'Rise of Flight', a recent WWI flight sim, looks amazing on YouTube!:

...I DL'd this game, but I couldn't figure out the keys to start the engine and when I pressed 'O' I think I blew up or the game crashed. It was all very DOS-y with bad graphics and sound. Not the Amiga A1200 version I had!
