Description of Stunt Track Racer
Before Geoff Crammond designed the much-underrated World Circuit for MicroProse, he designed this outstanding and unique stunt car simulation that features excellent physical model, 3D wireframe graphics, and addictive gameplay. Start off as a rookie stunt car driver in Division 4 and work your way up the ladder by winning races.
The game's very difficult gameplay --you must stay on a narrow track going at speeds over 110 mph most of the time while avoiding other cars-- is eased by excellent practice mode that's available for every track. Highly recommended for its near-perfect balance of realism and sheer fun, both in solo and multiplayer modes.

I've always known this game as "stunt car racer"
Shame the zx spectrum version is not here 🤔
The zx and c64 versions were both great, I'm gonna try the other versions 😎👍

I never got this game, didn't enjoy the gameplay, wasn't ever keen on the graphics or the whole setting for the game. OK, I played this first about 15 years ago as abandonware, but I remember the reviews, screenshots, being on the shelves on the high street. But just never appealed to me. I really did want to play it though, give it a go as I was a massive fan of Power Drift. Maybe I just played this title too late and racers had moved on by then.
I have to admit, I am just a bit confused by Pickwick's comment below, I have always known the UK version as Stunt Car Racer and not just on the C64 but other formats such as the Amiga and Amstrad CPC.

Fantastic game. I ended up winning all divisions only to find that there was a much harder "super League" (albeit with the same characters) to play afterwards. I found the game hard enough and never did manage to complete the super League divisions beyond the first or second. My copy was the American version (with the name "Stunt Car Racer").

Remember playing this with my and by brothers ST's linked by a null modem cable. Great fun and we used to set it up so you couldn't see the others screen so you could "cheat" by getting a head and then laying in wait...

Haha I remember this on C64. It was one of the longest loads from tape. Was very less detailed than this one. We loved it still couldnt understand whats happening and why the car fall off from the edges for a while. :))) We even didnt have a concept of what is a simulation game, was confusing and hard to drive with a joystick :))))))

The best 3d racing game on the c64. Quite fast and with good graphics.

There's a modern Windows conversion of this game that you can download
https://sourceforge.net/projects/stuntcarremake/
Just copy and paste the contents of this "remake" into your STR folder and run the executable.

Blaggsta, the original version was just like this, it got remade with 256 colour graphics a few years later (I think it coincided with the release on the Amiga/Amstrad)
