I don't think old Rockstar games worth being bought anymore, and once if they discontinue them from their life then they should really be considered abandonware.

The original version of the game is no longer available on Steam or any other plataform, only the subpar hd remaster. I think this makes it abandonware now. You should put it back on the site.

Hello, I really want to play this game but couldn't find it anywhere else. My first option was to get it on Steam, but found out they only pulled out the original GTA games a couple of months ago. I tried to download it from a "forum" but the games seem to be corrupted.
Does anyone have a copy they could kindly share? Or a link where they managed to get this game? Thank you.

The game has been removed from both Steam and the Rockstar.
on the Rockstar Launcher/Store it's been replaced with the remaster that no one likes.
I think the original release of the game is abandonware since you can't buy it any more.
TLDR: I think the game should be put back up here since there is no place you can buy it from.
